As the 2026 election cycle gains momentum, Texas Majority PAC is hitting the road with its Turn Texas Blue Tour, and Pearland is one of its key stops. On Saturday, July 26th from 2–4 PM, the organization will host a Candidate Recruitment Rally aimed at identifying and empowering the next generation of Democratic leaders in Brazoria County and beyond.
The event, part of a statewide initiative, invites community members who are curious about running for office—or who know someone who should—to learn more about the process and connect with organizers, mentors, and fellow advocates. It’s also a chance for volunteers and supporters to plug into efforts to flip local and state seats in 2026.
What’s at Stake in Brazoria County in 2026?
The 2026 ballot in Brazoria County will feature a wide range of county, judicial, and municipal positions, including:
- County Judge
- County Commissioners (Precincts 2 and 4)
- Drainage District Commissioners
- Justices of the Peace
- District and County Clerk
- District Attorney
- County Court at Law Judges
- District Judges (where applicable)
- Tax Assessor-Collector
At the State Level, we need elected officials that will represent us. Impactful positions include:
- State Board of Education District 7
- Texas Senate District 11
- Texas House Districts 25 & 29
In addition, Pearland will hold local elections for City Council and Mayor, with filing deadlines in early 2026.
With these offices shaping everything from public safety and infrastructure to judicial fairness and tax policy, the need for diverse, community-rooted candidates has never been more urgent.
